Infos plantes NL: Deze in Noord-Amerika inheemse plant wordt ‘Leids plantje’ genoemd. In die vorm kan het een mooi, klein, onderwaterplantje blijven. Als moerasplant kan hij wel 1 m hoog worden met grote hartvormige, heldergroene bladeren en in de zomer-begin herfst sierlijk gekromde (als salamanderstaarten) aren witte, geurende bloempjes. De plant groeit vanuit tot 2 cm dikke worstelstokken. Een fraaie moeras- of oeverplant voor een plek in natte grond tot ondiep water en in matig voedzame vijvergrond en zon. Goed winterhard.
Infos plantes EN: This plant is endemic in North-America and used in both the garden and aquariums. Used in the last way it can stay a nice, small, submerged plant. As a marsh-plant it may get 1 m tall with big, heart-shaped, bright green leaves and in summer-beginning autumn elegantly curved (like lizard’s tails) spikes with white, fragrant little flowers. The plant develops out of up tot 2 cm diam. thick root-stocks. A great marsh- or pond-edge plant for a spot in wet soil to shallow water and in moderately fertile pons-soil and sun. Good winter-hardy.
